President Miller officially set us apart as full-time missionaries to serve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Lubumbashi Mission for 18 months. He blessed us wonderfully. We said our final goodbyes to our family. I think there were many non-final goodbyes before that.
Eight-year-old Alexa suggested that we all sing together before the departure.
August 13/14 The day has finally arrived. Line-up for hugs and kisses for those around to see us leave for the airport.
Only 15 out of 23 grandchildren made it. We said goodbye to the others earlier.
It will pass quicker than we think.
It will be in the middle of a bleak and dreary February when we return.
These two will really miss each other but neither would have it any other way.
Aug. 14/14 Heber and Ardeth Kapp have made us feel at home before we enter the Missionary Training Center in Provo on Monday.
We toured the Ogden Temple that is having an open house prior to re-dedication.
It was glorious!!
I tried commenting earlier. Awesome that you got to go through the temple!! Enjoy your last weekend of "freedom". ;) - Emily
